Second Chance is an organization dedicated to assisting the underemployed in reaching their full potential. We are an organization founded in Arlington Virginia and servicing the Northern Virginia and surrounding area.
Second Chance’s target market are the underemployed young adults who have at least a high school degree or equivalent. We are specifically targeting those motivated individuals who are currently underemployed and would like a “Second Chance” at building their skill sets, have a meaningful career path, and ultimately own or have an equity stake in their business.
We believe skill sets in the various trade areas provide the best opportunity and market for success:

- Plumber
- HVAC
- Carpenter
- Welder
- IT (Help Desk/Networking)
The Challenge
The most prevalent alternative for a trades person is to not be officially or classically trained which leads to them maintaining a lower paying position with a local shop or travel outside the northern Virginia area for the same opportunity.
Importance
There are over six million high-wage positions in the trades, which are unfilled in the U.S. and much of that is due to lack of awareness and more importantly a lack of skill sets available in these sectors. These skill sets are both technical in trade as well as business and operationally focused. By establishing a defined career path with future potential ownership in the chosen career, we believe these young professionals will enjoy greater prosperity, increased self-esteem, and an improvement in their overall quality of life.
Second Chance brings awareness of the opportunities in the trades, identifies young motivated adults suited for these fields with the ultimate goal that one day these individuals will have a high stake in their respective career, as well as involvement as business owners.
